LCR Beyond Early Years Stronger Practice Hub
Accessing the new Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs
During 2023, the Department for Education established 18 new Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs across England.
In our region we have two Hubs providing support. Evelyn Street Primary Academy is a strategic partner of one of the two - Liverpool City Region & Beyond Early Years Stronger Practice Hub.
This new Hub, founded in September 2023, is focused initially on Liverpool City area for events but will be sharing more widely with the region including Halton and Warrington. Access their website here.
The Lead setting is Everton Nursery School and Family Centre with 4 partners: East Prescot Nursery School; Cargill’s Childminding (childminder); Kids Planet Fazakerley; and, Evelyn Street Primary Academy and Nursery.
What are Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs?
Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs are a new Department for Education funded national network to support early years settings.
Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs will support other early years settings to improve outcomes for children in their local area across the EYFS, but specifically focusing on areas of development that research informs us have been most impacted by COVID-19: personal social and emotional development (PSED); communication and language, and early literacy and maths.
Each Stronger Practice Hub will support settings to adopt well-evidenced practice improvements by:
- Establishing local networks of settings to share knowledge and effective practice
- Proactively sharing information and advice on evidence-based approaches, for example, through newsletters, blogs and social media
- Acting as a point of contact for bespoke advice, and signposting to other funded support
- Working with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) to select evidence-based programmes to fund and make available to settings
The EEF’s EYFS Evidence Store contains pedagogy and processes that support practice change and is available for all to access and is being constantly updated with new resources.
Any EYFS teacher or leader that would like to talk to Amanda for EYFS advice and guidance can contact her directly on aquirk@wpat.uk or call 07897 280909.
