1. How much is dinner money?
Currently, the daily cost is £2.40 paid online through ParentPay.
2. What time does school start?
We operate staggered start times for each class/key stage.
3. Where can I buy my child's uniform?
Touchline supply our school uniform - please collect an order form from the school office.
4. How do I make an application for a school place for my child?
An application form for nursery can be obtained from a school office. As our school takes 2 year olds, children can be entered on the list in date order from their second birthday onwards.

By law, children must receive full-time education from the beginning of the school term following their fifth birthday.
Warrington Borough Council Admission coordinate places
The number of places available at the school is published annually and the school cannot exceed that number, which is allocated with regards to available accomodation at the school. There are 45 main school places in each year group.

5. What should I do if I think my child is being bullied?
Please advise your child to speak to an adult within the school. This could be any member of staff that they feel comfortable with. You may also wish to support your child by talking to the teacher/member of staff with them.
We would encourage that they report any incident directly to their class teacher, as they can then observe behaviour during lessons and advise the lunchtime staff as necessary.
We take accusations of this kind very seriously and any incidents are dealt with appropriately and with speed. If you are concerned about your child, please speak to a member of the school's Senior Leadership Team and do not approach the child or their parent.
6. Can I park at the school?
Our on site parking is for staff only - please can we ask that if parents are parking near the school, that they do it with consideration for our neighbours.
7. Can my child cycle to school?
Yes, your child can cycle to and from school if they are accompanied by an adult or if you give them permission to cycle alone or with friends. A secure cycle park is provided on site.
8. Can my child walk to school alone?
All children in KS1 must be accompanied by an adult.
However, if you wish for an older child to walk to school alone we do need a permission letter from somebody with parental responsibility. The information will be held on their data collection sheet for reference.
9. What should be in my child's packed lunch?
We always encourage healthy eating and expect our parents to make healthy choices when putting together a packed lunch for their child.
An example of a healthy packed lunch would be:
No sweets, fizzy drinks and STRICTLY NO NUTS.
10. What should I do if my child has lost a piece of clothing?
Parents should either sew in a name label to all clothing or write their name in indelible ink. If an item goes missing, your child must inform their class teacher and teaching assistant and also look in the lost property box which is in the school office. We will do our best to find any lost items but we are unable to provide a replacement.
11. Where will my child go once they finish Evelyn Street in Year 6?
We offer support in the transition from primary to secondary school. This process includes parents' meetings, workshops and transition booklets.
Due to our geographical location, our Year 6 pupils will move to various secondary schools across Warrington including Penketh High School, Great Sankey High School and St Gregory's High School.
12. When will my child start in Reception?
Usually children join Reception class in the September before their 5th birthday. Please read our Admissions section or for further advice speak to our school office staff.
13. Can my child bring toys into school?
We normally discourage this, unless the class teacher has specifically asked their class to do so. Please always check with them.
14. Can I receive the newsletter by email?
We operate a ParentMail system; please speak to a member of our office staff. Newsletters are always available on our school website or you can also request a paper copy from the school office.
15. What is the best time for me to talk to my child's class teacher if I have a question?
We would discourage parents from trying to talk to a teacher in the morning as they are busy preparing for the school day.
We would advise you to speak to the teacher at the end of the school day after all the children have been dismissed. We can also make appointments in the school office for parents to see the class teacher or another member of staff.
16. Is there a before and after school provision?
We have WASPS link club on our site which provides before and after school childcare. More information can be found here.
At Evelyn Street, we offer a variety of clubs for different age groups. These run after school normally from 3.15pm - 4.15pm on a Monday and Tuesday. Clubs change every term and you will always be notified in the first week of the new term so that you can apply.
17. How can parents get involved?
We encourage parents to get involved in various ways from attending trips to individual reading. We have a small fundraising team (PTA) and would welcome new members with new ideas and contacts.
